A deep fried snack with vegetable stuffing in a samosa sheets shaped to triangle or cone. basically cocktail samosa is an ideal party snack which can be served as starter or even as appetiser and certainly loved by all gender groups and particularly by kids.
INGREDIENTS:
FOR SAMOSA STUFFING:
- 2 tsp oil
- ½ tsp coriander seeds / dhaniya seeds, crushed
- 1 onion, roughly chopped
- ½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 green chilli, finely chopped
- ¼ cup peas / matar
- ½ tsp kashmiri chilli powder / lal mirch powder
- ½ tsp aamchur powder / dry mango powder
- salt to taste
- 2 medium sized potatoes, boiled & peeled
- ¼ tsp garam masala
- 2 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
FOR SAMOSA PATTI SHEETS:
▢½ cup maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
▢½ cup wheat flour / atta
▢salt to taste
▢½ tsp sugar
▢2 tbsp oil, hot
▢water, as required to knead
OTHER INGREDIENTS:
▢oil for deep frying
▢2 tbsp maida / plain flour / all-purpose flour
▢4 tbsp water
Instructions: Step 1: Prepare the Dough. In a bowl, mix the flour, carom seeds, and salt.Add oil or ghee and mix until the dough becomes crumbly.Gradually add water and knead into a firm dough. Cover and set aside for 15-20 minutes. Step 2: Make the StuffingHeat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.Add the onions and sauté until translucent.Add green chilies, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, and red chili powder. Stir for 1 minute.Add the boiled potatoes and green peas. Mix well and mash lightly while stirring.Add garam masala and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then turn off the heat.Garnish with fresh coriander and let the stuffing cool. Step 3: Assemble the Samosa. Divide t he dough into small equal portions and roll each portion into a small ball.Roll out each ball into a thin oval or round shape.Cut the rolled dough into halves (semi-circles). Take one half, form it into a cone by folding it, and seal the edges with water.Fill the cone with 1-2 tsp of the prepared stuffing.Seal the top edges carefully, making sure there are no gaps. .Step 4: Fry the Cocktail SamosasHeat oil in a deep pan for frying over medium heat.Once the oil is hot, carefully drop in the samosas in batches.Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy.Remove the samosas from the oil and drain on paper towels. Step 5: Serve. Serve these crispy cocktail samosas hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney, or any dip of your choice !Enjoy these bite-sized, crispy delights!
